H.U.M.A.N.

Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective August 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information H.U.M.A.N. handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. It applies to the H.U.M.A.N. mobile and web application.

The short version

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up with Google or with an email address and password, we receive your email address and name. Sign-in and passwords are managed by our authentication provider; we never see or store your password. Your account has a unique ID that ties your data together, and we record which version of the Terms and this Policy you accepted and when.

Health profile. The profile you fill in — such as age, sex, height, weight, goals, dietary preferences, allergies, and conditions or medications you choose to add — is stored on your device, and a copy is kept on our servers so your profile can follow you when you sign in on another device.

Activity and nutrition records. Food logs, water intake, workouts, steps, body measurements, scan history, meal plans, shopping lists, challenges, and badges are stored on your device in a space scoped to your account. We do not keep copies of these records on our servers.

Connected health services. If you choose to connect a service such as Fitbit, Oura, Apple Health, or Health Connect, the data you authorize (for example steps, sleep, heart rate, or weight) is merged into the health store on your device. Connection keys are kept on your device; our servers pass data through during a sync without keeping long-term copies.

Photos and documents you submit. Product label photos, body scan photos, and health record screenshots are processed to extract the data in them (label facts, measurements, or record details). Your personal results are saved on your device. Extracted product label data — which does not identify you — may be stored server-side to improve the shared product catalog.

Technical basics. Like most services, our servers keep short-lived request logs (such as IP address, time, and endpoint) to operate, secure, rate-limit, and debug the service.

How we use information

Personalized product notes are computed on demand: the app sends only the minimal profile hints needed for a given product, and those hints are not stored on our servers.

AI features and external lookups

Some features send data to service providers to do their job: AI providers process product facts to write plain-language explanations, analyze photos or screenshots you upload, and may process questions you ask the in-app coach. Public databases (such as Open Food Facts, USDA, openFDA, and PubChem) are queried with product or ingredient terms, and grocery pricing sources with food names — these lookups do not include your identity.

We send the minimum needed for each request and never share your whole profile with these providers.

Advertising

The free version of H.U.M.A.N. may display advertisements. Ads are never targeted using your health or nutrition records, and we do not share those records with ad networks. H.U.M.A.N. Premium removes ads. If our advertising practices ever change materially, we will update this Policy and ask you to review it again.

Payments

Premium subscriptions are billed by the app store or payment provider you purchase through. We receive your subscription status, not your full card details.

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

Retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account in Settings permanently erases your sign-in, the data on our servers, and the app’s data on your device. De-identified product label data contributed to the shared catalog may remain, as it does not identify you.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal data, such as access, correction, or portability. Contact us at infohumanapp@gmail.com and we will help.

Children

H.U.M.A.N. is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact us at infohumanapp@gmail.com and we will delete the account and its data.

Security

Data moving between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit, server data is scoped to your signed-in session, and sign-in is handled by a dedicated authentication provider. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and contact us if you notice anything suspicious.

Changes to this Policy

Each version of this Policy has a version number and effective date shown at the top. If we make material changes, the app will prompt you once to review and accept the new version.
